Lark Angels Foundation

It is with a heavy heart I notify you all that the Lark Angels Foundation has ceased operations as of December 31, 2021.

Try as we might, with no grants or funding to carry us through the last two years of COVID-19 and the uncertainty of these times, the Directors have voted to close the Foundation.

As one of our Directors said, “From our exposure to Lark Angels we (also) realize that most well-meaning people generally have the wrong approach to senior care. Their basic concept is to create a protective shell and isolate family members faced with dementia. The real requirement is the exact opposite - sensory stimulation and exposure to friends and family. We have the knowledge we just do not have the opportunity to apply it. There should be a sensory stimulation room in every care home and in every residence with seniors facing dementia. Hopefully, that knowledge may find an application sometime in the future.”

Warmest regards,

Janet Isherwood, Director & COO
